A grifter and her loose-cannon brother get their hands on a massive amount of money, but their ill-gotten gains puts a huge target on their back.

Set in the 1980s, Oishii Kyushoku: Road to Ikameshi follows Amari Yutaka (played by Hayato Ichihara), a passionate middle school teacher with an obsession for school lunches. His love for these meals is so intense that it leads to an ongoing light-hearted rivalry with one of his students, Ken Tsubura, who also takes immense pride in how he enjoys his lunch. The film centers around their comical "battle" to see who can savor their school lunch in the most delicious way possible. As the story unfolds in the city of Hakodate, the focus shifts to a local dish called ikameshi (stuffed squid), which becomes a pivotal point in their culinary competition.

Orphan girl Mei is adopted by a wealthy family and receives the ticket out of the orphanage. The girl finds herself with a sister who has arrived at the family under similar circumstances. They bond and become close. Things take a turn for the worse, however, when the family's fortunes take a nosedive allowing the family to keep no more than one of the girls. That means someone has to trod back to the orphanage. Well, neither is volunteering.

Passionately depicts the power plays amongst loan sharks captivated by money, with the villain from the previous film GACHI-BAN WORST MAX as the protagonist. However, Yoshio, whom he meets again after a long time, has become a weakling who works hard at a part-time job distributing packets of tissues to passers-by.

Mei lives in an orphanage, but she is adopted by the wealthy and kind Uda family. The family already has an adopted daughter Rana. While Rana seems weird, Mei and Rana find that they have a lot in common and become like real sisters.
